Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

After the successes of the World Rowing Junior Championships in 1986, the World Rowing Championships in 1993 and the FISA World Masters Regatta 2002 and 2006, Račice has won the right to stage another major international championship.

At the FISA Congress in Eton, September 2006, Račice was chosen as the venue for staging the 2009 World Rowing Under 23 Championships. This is a great sign of confidence for the experienced organisers of the Czech Rowing Association as well as the Račice Sportcentrum.

The 2009 World Rowing Under 23 Championships at Račice will be an unforgettable experience for all participants and for the athletes it will be an important milestone in their sporting development.
