Preparations for the World Championships reach their peak

On 9 July 2009 1,200 participants from 56 countries registered for the World Rowing U23 Championship 1200. The biggest teams are from the USA with 90 people, Germany with 100, Poland with 50, France with 54 and the Czech Republic with 30.

Some countries will start within the framework of the FISA Development Programme – Uruguay, Peru, Paraguay, Georgia, Angola, and Albania.

40 persons are registered from FISA, including employees of Swisstiming, which is organising the information system during the course of the entire competition.

The international jury will comprise 20 members of FISA and another 50 judges of the Czech Rowing Federation.

A total of 150 organisers from the Czech Republic will be responsible for the competition.

Training for certain teams will begin on 10 July, when the New Zealand team will train in Račice, where they will be joined by the Australians and Japanese from 14 July.

Participants will stay in hotels in town around the Račice Sports Centre, in Roudnice, Mělník, Litoměřice, Štětí, Terezín and Prague.

The travel agency Čedok will be organising the accommodation of foreign visitors

Czech television will broadcast the finals on 25 July on its programme ČT 4 Sport from 1:40pm, repeated at 12:25am, and on 26 July at 1:20pm, repeated at 11:45pm.

On Thursday and Friday visitors can enter the grounds free of charge. On Saturday and Sunday the entry fee will be CZK 50.
